Long Time!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Long time right? lol. Mennn! Last week was something else (the next few weeks will equally be tasking as I round up). I got only about six (6) hrs sleep in four (5) days. I was prepared to break down. I thought my body was just going to shut down cos it was really bad, but glory be to God I'm doing great. By Saturday my eyes were glazed in class, honestly. I don't mean to stress it but I actually feared that I would just fall flat on the table with a hug thump, but thank God.

I really had lots to share with you during the process of the week but couldn't. I was kinda wishing blogs could be recorded by voice so I won't have to miss uploading posts for you to read. I completed one of my classes (Leadership) on Saturday (the class I was talking about above) with a highly knowledgeable consultant and it was great. I would like to share two things with you from this class.

There is nothing that we learn in the world that is not founded in the Word of God you know. The first thing I'd like to share with you is 'to effect change you have to end a process to begin a new one'. Isn't that something a lot of times when we want to change things we're all about I'll begin to do this, and I'll begin to do that, and we forget about what we need to end so that the new things we're starting are not in vain. For effective change, there has to be a demarcation. I was impressed. That is key information. It's just like trying saying 'I'm born again' yet do the things of the world. That is not an effective change. Or saying 'I want to have a healthy and trim body' yet still sit down in front of the TV and consume five (5) pieces of meat with a meal.

The second thing is; for effective change we need a vision and a vision is important to know where one is headed, to create forward momentum and to draw resources. We've always heard that we need to have a vision in the bible. We've also heard that once we have a vision, God will grant us the provision we need. So what we learn from the Word of God and in the house of God is really more than enough equipment for this world. Whatever it is you might want to achieve, have a vision, write it down, have a Word to support it, and remember to end the things/habits that may run against it.

God is truly the best teacher. May He continually teach us and help us in Jesus mighty name. It is well.

"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry". Hab 2:2-3

Burning the Midnight Candle!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? I was chatting with another friend of mine and I got today's title from her. Well I am presently burning the midnight candle. It's basically the only time I have to do the work that I have to do, to get the kind of grade that I want and desire. So no sleep for a while. Did the same thing thru the weekend needless to say I got a nasty headache just after church yday. So I just had to sleep for like 2 hrs. My lil'baby wasn't ready to sleep of course but figured out a way to prop him in his bouncing sleeper. How do you get to sleep with kids that aren't ready to sleep around. Well TV and bouncing sleepers can get you like 40mins. lol.

I would really have loved to gist about the project i am actually doing but...long story ... and then it'll probably be a bunch of jargons' to you. Need to get back to work cos my day will begin shortly. Will however love to encourage you this morning. The main scripture we took yday in church was Joshua 1: 8. We all know the verse. very popular but ask yourself if you truly practice it. It says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success".

We need to have a Word for every issue concerning our lives as believers (depart out of thy mouth). We need to also read the Word, not just read it but meditate upon it during the day and not just during the day alone but at night as well. Our mind should not just be preoccupied with worldly things (bills, kids, marriages, wives, husbands, jobs, career, school etc) but it should also be preoccupied with what we read from the Word. Now after doing all this, we still need to act them out, u know, be a hearer and not just a doer. And get this... not just some things oh...'ALL that is written therein'. THEN... meaning after you have done all that...Then...thou shall make thy way prosperous. Prosperity is one the first level of success. The next level is good success.

My Pastor said some people can be prosperous and not have good success but you can not have good success without being prosperous. The example he gave, some stars(Hollywood) may be prosperous and have lots of money but a lot of them do not have good success (other areas of their lives fail or are heavily lacking). May God help us all in Jesus mighty name.

The Rod in Your Hand!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? How was your weekend? I trust that it was great. I had a marvellous week last week. We had our week long anniversary program in Church and it was glorious.

Where do I start from? Had late nights so I couldn't put posts up. What I will do is try to encourage you this morning, as you start your glorious week. We learnt yesterday about the rod in our hands. To understand this fully, you need to read Exodus 1-4. Pastor Agu Irukwu shared a lot of powerful things with us. We know the story of Moses, the circumstances in which he had been born, and how he ended up in the palace. This is someone who had been marked for death, but was saved when his mother put him in the Nile and asked his sister to watch his basket from afar to see what would become of him. Pharaoh's daughter found him and we know the rest of the story. So he grew up in the palace a s Pharaoh's daughter's son. He killed an Egyptian and when he discovered that some Israelites had discovered what he did he fled. He eventually got married and served as a shepherd in his father in law's territory.

Now check this out, Pastor Agu explained that for forty years, Moses did the same thing. He woke up and went to work, tending to the sheep with his staff/rod in his hand. He was probably so used to the route that he could tell the trees on the route apart. a lot of us are in the same routine. Doing the same thing everyday. Eating the same thing, wearing the same nightie/pj's, the same desk, the same snack everyday,, the same car route, the same channel. He was like, we need to be delivered from the mundane. Anyhow, so Moses went about going on his same route and this day, he noticed something different. A burning bush.

Now if you read the whole thing, God during their conversation told Moses to drop his rod/staff. Exo 4: 1-5 "Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, 'The LORD did not appear to you'?" Then the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he replied. The LORD said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. "This," said the LORD, "is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you."

God asked Moses what was in his hands. It is not that God didn't know what was in Moses' hand but he wanted him to acknowledge it. In the same way, we need to ask God to reveal to us what is in our hands because whatever it is God can use it for His glory and that will elevate us and grant us divine results. For some people they talk well, God can use that to turn your life around, for some people it is organizing, you just love to organize things, God can catapult you to greatness with that. For some people it is listening, it can be anything. The sermon was so exhaustive. I have heard a similar message before but this just hit home again, especially to move me into divine results.

I pray God shall reveal the rod in your hands to you as well.

Breastplate of Righteousness

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Been a while cos of my work deadlines but we thank God. Couldn't wait to gist you a bit about some of the things I learnt on Sunday during workers meeting in church. Eph 6:14 says "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;". We had learnt about how important our loins need to be girt with the truth the previous Sunday. It basically is like using a belt to hold up your pants which are kinda big/loose. Without the belt, your pants could fall. In the same way if you do not girt yourself with the truth, you leave yourself exposed as a believer. You need to take that in slowly...

Concerning the righteousness aspect, my Pastor explained it like 'what does the breastplate protect?', and seriously thinking about it, when soldiers go to war and wear breastplates, it's to protect the heart. One strike through it and the person is gone... That is the most high risk area. As a believer we therefore need to be right standing before God at all times. Does anyone go to battle and remove his breastplate for a short while to rest??? No! I doubt it anyone would do that.

Doesn't that just make you go 'ah!' or 'hmmn!'. It makes so much sense. Paul began the battle essentials by saying in verse 12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places". Check out the whole scripture Eph 6:12-18. So there are other weapons. We're learning lots about them. Please do as well.

May God help us as we do His will in Jesus mighty name

We are Overcomers!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? I trust you are doing great. My weekend was really pleasant. Well, I wanted you to start this week with this cos I am starting mine with that attitude, and much more.

"This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God"
1 John 5:3-5 NIV
