Like Chocolate?

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Well I'm sure. Have to complete most of my project work due Tues morning right now. I'm so thankful to God for His goodness. This morning I was just thinking about how wonderful He has been to me. I especially was thinking about me praying that I couldn't wait for my daughter to start talking and repeating words consistently. I was becoming worried and he has done it. I had to ask for forgiveness this morning cos after He did it, I forgot to give Him special thanks. You know we always do that, ask for things and once He has done it we forget to thank Him specially. May God help us all.

I also have dance practice today in church. I'm really looking forward to it. We haven't had any major practice since I got pregnant the last time. So looking forward to that. Who likes chocolate? There is this chocolate chip muffin that's just the best, made by Otis Spunkmeyer. Really popular in schools. It's great for kid's bday parties/get together's as well. One can dress it up for other occasions as well. Just being goofy with the chocolate chip muffin today, what can I say? But really planning one of those thingies', you should get this muffin. (Walmart, Sam's club etc carry it).

(God's Name Is) I Am - Nicole Nordeman - Psalm 139

I couldn't resist puttin the video up. It's 5.48 minutes of sincere worship. I pray you'll be blessed as you watch and listen. I'm big on lyrics, so here it is below.

Pencil marks on a wall, I wasn't always this tall
You scattered some monsters from beneath my bed
You watched my team win
You watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle went down again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said, Elbow Healer, Superhero
Come if You can
You said, I Am

Only sixteen, life is so mean
What kind of curfew is at 10pm?
You saw my mistakes
And watched my heart break
Heard when I swore I'd never love again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper
Be my best friend
And you said, I Am

You saw me wear white by pale candlelight
I said forever to what lies ahead
Two kids and a dream, with kids that can scream
Too much it might seem when it is 2am
And when I am weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Shepherd, Savior, Pasture Maker
Hold onto my hand
You say, I Am

The winds of change and circumstance blow in and all around us
So we find a foothold that's familiar
And bless the moments that we feel You nearer

When life had begun, I was woven and spun
You let the angels dance around the throne
And who can say when, but they'll dance again
When I am free and finally headed home
I will be weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Creator, Maker, Life Sustainer
Comforter, Healer, my Redeemer
Lord and King, Beginning and the End

I Am
Yes, I Am

Wow!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Great I'm sure. Thank God for yet another great day, and yet another opportunity to write/type lol. I have a lot of work to do as per school work. I just don't want to think of it and sometimes I feel like hyperventilating when I begin to think of it. Just need to take a deep breath, and take it one step at a time. It is well. That's why we need to just love praise cos it takes us to another place. Check this out, on my way to drop my daugther this morning, I was listening to KTIS (Christian radio) and the guy was saying 'when you give or pour yourself out to others as a believer, you notice it brings growth unto you/your life (especially spiritually)', and it is so true... really.

Also been working on my website. Hmmn, that's a story for another day but it's coming along great. The enthusiasm I started with was beginning to fade out, and I had abandoned it for the past 2 days cos of school work but my husband just asked me about it like an hr ago. So... I guess I decided to log on to look at 'how much work I still have on it' before going to bed. Also kind was discouraged cos two of the people I got to work along side me suddenly quit on me.

One, cos she got a job with a media house which I absolutely had no issue with, and the 2nd person cos she wanted 50/50 stakes. That I had issues with so we agreed to go separate ways. You know when the bible says 'all things work together for our good...'. I have a paper I'm supposed to turn in, in 2 weeks and it's supposed to be about employees one has issues with, and how to employ situational leadership. It just all makes sense now, and I can write that paper with all understanding. Training for the future I believe. I LOVE a challenge. It brings about a move to the next level. So excited...

One of my fave songs is 'I am' by Nicole Nordeman. Just makes me fall in love with God all over each time I listen to it.

Wanted to share her new CD with you. Check it out on her website by clicking on the pic. You can launch the music player to listen to bits of the songs. Really wish I could go see her at the 'Women of Faith' Conference, cos she'll be here in Minnesota soon. Click here for her tour dates.

Who are we???

Hello Friend, How are you today? I'm sure your weekend was great. Check this video out. "Casting Crowns - Who am I". Who are we seriously???, that God is even mindful of us??? If we think about this for a second, we'll forget about how tired, stressed or discouraged we might be. If I begin to talk about all the reflection this song brings, don't know when I'll be done. Be blessed as you watch and listen. The lyrics are below.

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

I am yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Cause I am yours.
I am yours.
I am yours

Biz!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? My work load is a lot but this is what I had prayed for so, I am enjoying every bit of it. I am still trying to get the extension of my biz of the road. Can you imagine that I am actually building the new website myself? Well it may take me two years, LOL but I'll get it finished someday (considering it has to come after so many other things too).

Anyhow decided to put some links together for you. Not exhaustive but a good place to start for anyone interested.

Basically the popular ones, and some of my faves but most of all, it's nice just to have them on one page.

My Year of Divine Results!

Hello Friend!

How are you doing today? My project submission went well. Thank God. I still have I believe 7 more to go. Hadn't slept for like two days but got to yday night. lol. My husband didn't want me driving yday cos he knew I hadn't closed my eyes for so long lol. Twas raining 'very' heavily, dark clouds, foggy atmosphere (poor visibility). Right timing!!! lol. Anyhow thank God. I made it to and from my submission and presentation.

In relation to the title, we celebrate our anniversary in church every September. So we began another year on the 15th and our/my prophecy for our next year is divine results. The results shall be great. I am soooooo excited. Don't we all love great results. Who doesn't... So that's the season I am in right now.

Check this out. My Pastor said something during his message last week that I'd like to share with you.
"When you do not produce results, your value decreases"

Omo!!! (slang). He said think about it. At work, if you don't produce the results required on a project, the consequences may vary but the general idea is that it devalues you. However, when you produce results, great results, your value increases. Look at the story of Joseph for instance, when he was the only one that could interpret the dream (result) he was greatly increased.

I think we need to ponder upon that sentence. It applies to every area of our lives.

Giving!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? And how was your weekend? Great I'm sure. We thank God for the beginning of yet another week. Monday... Lots of work... Anyhow, Like you know I've started my project/capstone and believe me it's a lot of work. I have a deadline tomorrow to get my 2nd section in and I haven't even cut through the first 10 lines. Needless to say, I'll be here all day. I hate last minute work and really try to work hard to avoid it but...

We have a donation thingy going on in church. Our Pastor came up with like an open forum to give different products to church, so church could give it to kids in school. That is the basic gist don't want to go into that much details but I kinda love the idea of spreading joy to others around us in a wise way. I remember when I first gave my life to Christ. The question of how to give and when to give always came up, and I learnt that there is also wisdom in giving. For instance then in college, a classmate could come ask me for money saying he needs it for a textbook and I would/could easily guess that the textbook meant alcohol later in the day. You know what I'm talking about!!! You might have faced a different situation but the same general idea. It was confusing. How do you tell cos sometimes you don't have enough to go round so...

Remember the man at the beautiful gate, what he really needed was healing. Peter could have given him money and moved on but what he gave him was what he needed. The disciples also in Acts 4:32-35 distributed possessions according to a man's need. Verse 34 says "There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time...". Can you imagine! So where ever we find ourselves there shouldn't be a need amongst us. How??? Well...

What we can do is ask for wisdom and revelation. We can't do it of ourselves. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" James 1:5. There are so many passages we can go through for giving but let's round up with "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again" Luke 6:38 May God help us in Jesus name.

Wish me all the best with my project submission tomorrow. lol. It is well.

Hey!

Hello friend,

How are you doing? Been a while. I actually posted on Monday but it was a video and wasn't playing so I had to take it off. I have two classes going and lots of assignments already and guess what else happened. In the process of trying to carry my daughter out of the car and shut the door quickly, I caught my finger in the door. Hmmn! How can I describe it. The pain was incredible. So much pain that I was dizzy and nauseous at the same time. I didn't go to the clinic though. but may need to now cos it's so swollen and is still extremely painful. So... I'm on 'typing' leave. LOL.

Anywho... I'd like to leave you with this. We had a guest minister over on Sunday, and I was truly blessed. You can listen to his message here. Just click on the play button right next to Pastor Tope Dosunmu. I have to listen to it again.

Divine Elevation!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing? Great I'm sure. Yday was aiight. Wore this pair of heels to class the previous day and was nursing my feet today. Can u imagine! I haven't had it that bad in a very long while. That's part of the pain we 'have to' go through. Some may think otherwise about the 'have to' but for me, It's part of being a woman and looking professional. Told my husband I may not wear the shoes again but won't be surprised if I find my feet in them again pretty soon. They are not tight oh! Infact there's a bit of room for my feet but it's the 'peep toe' part/area that is just... I don't know. LOL

Anyhow. Yday night was bible study as usual, and there was so much that we learnt but I'll just kinda share a short part with you. As I mentioned before, we're in our month of divine elevation, and so we were talking bout elevation (Assistant Pastor). Check this out. In Esther Chapter 6 NIV, the bible says,

"That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes". v:1-2

In these verses, we learn that because of Mordecai's matter/situation, there came a night, 'one night', that the king could not sleep. Secondly, there was actually a book of records in which events had been recorded. So, how does this apply to us? Well, all my (our) actions are being recorded by God. God sees everything. He knows what I need and don't need. He is marking down my good works, and will reward my labor of love. as we all work hard everyday, serve God and pray to Him, He will in return move on our behalf. If there is a reward that we ought to have, that has gone by, there will come a night when whoever owes us that reward will not be able to sleep until he grants us what we are owed.

You need to read the whole of Esther to completely grasp. So that night, the King discovered that Mordecai had exposed two people who had tried to assassinate him. In v.3 he asked "What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?" and the attendants replied "Nothing has been done for him,". Do you know what happened next? The King called Haman (the man who wanted and had already planned Mordecai death) and asked him what he should do for someone he wanted to honor. Of course Haman thought the King was talking about him (Haman). So he replied in v. 7-9

"So he answered the king, "For the man the king delights to honor, have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head. Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the king's most noble princes. Let them robe the man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, 'This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!' "

The king ordered Haman to do all he had recommended for Mordecai. You can imagine his shock. Talk about divine elevation. The person whom Haman had oppressed had now been elevated to the position of 'his oppressor'. So to say. You can read the rest of the book of Esther. You'll discover the incredible end. Asst. Pastor was trying to buttress points like:
  • We should be humble and God will exalt us
  • We should obey the rules that govern us e.g. state rules, office rules etc (she gave examples like people trying to break the US rules when they get here in the bid to be exalted, not knowing that, 'that' in itself is a recipe for downfall. She was like' that is like sleeping with Potiphar's wife not knowing that a throne in Egypt has been prepared for you. If Joseph had slept with her only God knows where he would have ended up, one can almost be a guarantee that he would have missed it, big time!)
  • We should have the right attitude (you can imagine if Mordecai had been bitter, made silly comments or acted irrationally, he may not have been exalted at the end of the day you know!).
  • We should live a righteous life ( As long as you live and work for God, God will never, NEVER forsake you. 'Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: "for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me' Hebrew 13:5-6. "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread". Psalm 37:25 and my favorite "As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."Romans 10:11

She mentioned so many others but ... I think post for today is long enough. I believe if it is just this you take with you today you'll be highly blessed and favored. Thanks for your time today. May God help us all in Jesus mighty name.

Capstone!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Great I'm sure. Yday, I had my first class on my capstone (project/dissertation). Went well. We were all intimated with the amount of work we will be doing for the semester LOL, and everytime I think bout it, it's like I have a load on my shoulders. It is well. By God's grace it will soon be over. Can't wait to be done. yehaaw! Don't mind me.

Can't help but feel everyone is carrying loads on their shoulders as well, huge ones. mennn!!! Even the environment feels heavy. So many complaints and issues etc. Na real wa! Remember the song "cast ur burden, upon Jesus for He cares for you... higher, higher, higher..."LOL. I was chatting with someone yday (catching up) and he was so bitter (I'm sure he didn't even realise it), that was when it hit me . Issues/challenges are there and will always be there. No one is suddenly going to make all issues disappear into thin air. So, what do we do with them? Not allow them to become problems. hmmn. Dt's my take on it. The dictionary defines both words similarly, almost the same, but with problems the word 'difficult' is introduced. For example if I have issues with a co worker, it'll be best to hope the issues are quickly resolved as opposed to compounding it, into a problem. Then it may become a difficult situation. U get!

Who doesn't have issues and challenges? We all do!!! Some even carry other people's issues as well as theirs' and are still doing great.Dwelling on challenges/issues may cause them to become problems. Talking about issues are kool, very kool. But we talk about it, then we proffer solutions, and dwell on the solutions not the issues. For us believers a constant dwelling should be the Word, the Holy Spirit and God.

Every issue/challenge is a testing of our faith. There is growth and glory at the end of it cos just like going thru e.g. a project/capstone, at the end u'd move to another level of glory/growth. So go through it as best u can, cos at the end u'd only look back and smile (as u remember it all), getting ready to overcome the next hurdle. Remember life is a journey.

"Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:... 1 Peter 1 6-7 NIV

May God help us all in Jesus mighty name. Ask for His help. God can.

End Times!!!

Hello Friend,

How are you doing today? Twas Labor Day yday, and we all had a day to spend with the family. Very kool. My final semester begins today and I'm so thankful to God. He has been faithful. My weekend was full of exercise lol. My daughter began her potty training on Friday and ... I know all the mums that have been there done that are feeling me right now. (sigh). Had to and still have to take her every 30 mins. The earlier she gets it the better, so I don't mind the stress now if it won't last too long. Nothing good comes easy lol.

Wanted to talk about the end times today. We don't have many preachers who talk about or remind us that we have to be rapturable cos it's a scary topic to most. A lot of believers haven't even opened revelations to read. Yeah ... feel ya cos it's pretty hard to understand... not all of it but a lot of it... But check out what the bible says in Rev 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand". So reading it and/or hearing the words of prophecy therein, and u're blessed.

I was also reminded while watching I believe it was Adrian Rogers on TBN this weekend bout the following phrase. I wanted to share this explanation of 'the time is at hand'. Check this out. The bible says we are at the end times, and that 'the time is at hand' and that 'no one knows when the world will end'. it will all happen 'in the twinkling of an eye' 1 Cor 15: 52. Anyway so back to the explanation. He said, a lot of people see the end time as a time we are approaching e.g. how can I explain it like he did. Ummn okay... Bend down and draw a line across the floor (horizontally), move back like 5 yards and begin to approach that line. That is how we all view the end of the world. Like God has set a time ('the line') , only God knows where the line is, and we are approaching it, and when we get to the line, there's no floor after that.

But he explained the time is at hand isn't like that, the end time isn't like that. We are in it. This time draw a long vertical line, and begin to walk along it like a gymnast on a balance beam. We are all walking across the balance beam and at any moment, the beam will be shaken and of course you know what that means. So as opposed to moving towards the line, we are actually walking the line. Can u believe that??? I think that if more of us realize that, we won't postpone living our lives the way God wants us to. Today is the day to serve Him. To confess Him and believe and trust in Him.

God is not a scary God but we need to rever Him and fear His judgment. It is my prayer that with all the cares of this world that we have (provision for our children, succeeding in our careers, finances, being a good spouse, business, looking good and so so many other), we will not miss being rapturable. Amen. We can still be successful at all those things, and be right standing with God. May God help us all in Jesus mighty name.

It doesn't have to be a sombre topic. All we need do is accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior and confess Him (words and deeds). There is much joy in knowing him. Fullness of joy oh and didn't you know? pleasures forever more. U know it!!!
